Welcome to the IBI Biochar Operator Course — a comprehensive, on-demand training program designed for the people responsible for operating biochar systems in real-world conditions. Developed in partnership by IBI and Lyntra, and reviewed by an expert advisory committee, this course bridges the gap between high-level engineering concepts and the practical realities of day-to-day plant operations.

You’ll build a strong foundation in pyrolysis science, feedstock management, plant safety, operational procedures, instrumentation, troubleshooting, maintenance, product quality, and carbon market fundamentals. Whether you are new to the industry or already working in plant operations, this course is designed to support safer, more consistent, and more professional biochar production across the industry.

Throughout the program, you’ll gain access to practical tools and downloadable resources used in real operating environments, including SOP templates, incident reporting forms, operator logs, daily checklists, maintenance records, and safety documentation. The course also includes real-world case studies and operational examples to help reinforce key concepts and decision-making skills.

This course provides a Certificate of Completion recognizing participation and training in biochar plant operations. It does not constitute a professional license or regulatory operator certification.
